During the middle of last year and following the closure of ILC/ Jacques Products, Formulated Polymer Products acquired two new employees from ILC/Jacques Products. Since then we have been integrating Darren and Steve into the team here in Ramsbottom. They have been tasked with helping FPP diversify and expand our product range. Here is a synopsis of both, and the extended new product list:
Darren Farthing, Sales Manager
Darren is a new face at FPP and formerly of ILC/ Jacques Products, but familiar in the wider textile coating industry.
With his time at ILC, PolyOne (Avient), Fothergill Polycom and Louvolite, Darren has broad experience in Sales and Operations Management and Product Development in a textile coating environment. Additional knowledge of Building and Construction products makes Darren an excellent addition to our team. Darren holds an HNC Science (Polymer Technology) from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Steve Abbott, Technical Manager
As another ex-member of the ILC/ Jacques Products team our vastly experienced Technical Manager, Steve Abbott who will need little introduction. Steve’s time at Mydrin (Lubrizol), Vita Foam and Vita Liquid Polymers allowed him to innovate in textile coatings, crushed acrylic black-out foams.
Steve is currently applying his experience to Formulated Polymer P’s halogen free flame retardant technology. Steve latterly added SBR Construction products and adhesives to his armoury.

Building on the current product range at Formulated Polymer Products, the tried and tested, industry leading products below are now readily available in tanker, IBC, and drum quantities. FPP offers a confidential toll mixing service for customer’s own products.
